Introduction
King Edward VI College is excited to be offering the new Sports Academy from September 2012. The College Cricket Academy is a development scheme dedicated to Cricket training, coaching and education.
The Cricket Academy is to be run in partnership with Nuneaton Cricket Club and Bedworth Cricket Club. Students on the Academy will receive training 3 times a week from experienced ECB Level 2 and 3 qualified county coaches. The College Cricket Academy team will play on Wednesday afternoons and in Sunday evening Indoor leagues.
Competitions Entered
King Edward VI College will enter the British Colleges Sport (BCS) National Knockout Cup, BCS West Midlands Cricket league, Warwickshire Schools Championships as well as playing friendlies against local schools and colleges. Trials are held for West Midlands representation with students having the possibility of being selected for the BCS England team.
What Training is Involved?
Individual training and team coaching will take place 3 times a week. Individual player assessments and development.
Individual fitness profiling. Diet and nutrition.
National Governing Body coaching and umpiring qualifications.
League fixtures and National Cup competitions.
Trials
Trials will be taking place during the summer term.
