Introduction
Students will gain an understanding of the Business Environment and gain an in depth appreciation of the functions of Marketing, Human Resources and Finance. Students will develop skills to be able to assess both good and poor business practice and develop their ability to provide suggestions on improvement strategies. Along with developing Business knowledge and reasoning, this course develops key personal skills that are essential in the workplace such as refining key information for different audiences, report writing, presentation skills and strengthening the student’s use of ICT. This course is equivalent to one A level
Further Details
Prior knowledge of Business is not required. This course is 100% coursework. Students who prefer a more examination-orientated approach should consider AS Business Studies. Students interested in this course might consider the ‘Academy of Business’ programme.
Progression Options
Students who are successful at Certificate level may wish to complete an additional year to achieve the Subsidiary Diploma level. This would prove a good foundation from which to progress to higher education, where students might follow any one of a range of Business or Management degree courses. The nature of this course also makes it highly appropriate for students seeking direct entry into employment following completion of their Level 3 courses.
